Auto-stop, unsubscribe, and pause/play behavior
Three campaign behaviors that protect your candidates and your sender reputation: auto-stop on reply, unsubscribe handling, and pause/resume.

Why it matters
Section titled “Why it matters”Cold outreach has two failure modes: messaging someone who already replied (annoying), and messaging someone who asked you to stop (illegal in some places). Both hurt your reputation. Wiggli handles both automatically, so you never have to remember to remove someone from a sequence.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Auto-stop on reply
Section titled “Auto-stop on reply”When a candidate replies on any channel (email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp), Wiggli stops the entire sequence for that person. No next email, no next LinkedIn message, no next WhatsApp.
Replies arrive in your connected inbox (Gmail/Outlook for email, LinkedIn inbox, WhatsApp on your phone). Wiggli registers that a reply happened so it can auto-stop, but it doesn’t surface replies inside the app.
If a candidate replies somewhere Wiggli can’t match (a forwarded thread, a different inbox, a delayed provider signal), use Mark as replied on that recipient to stop their reply-dependent follow-ups by hand.
One scope note: Wiggli sees the messages Wiggli sends. If you already messaged someone manually on LinkedIn outside a campaign, Wiggli can’t know that, so check your own history before enrolling a profile you’ve approached by hand. The same goes for a reply to a message you sent manually: use Mark as replied to register it.
Unsubscribe
Section titled “Unsubscribe”Every email step includes an unsubscribe option. If a candidate clicks it, they’re removed from the current campaign and flagged so future campaigns from the workspace skip them automatically.
This applies to email. LinkedIn and WhatsApp have no formal unsubscribe, so a manual “please stop” should be respected manually.
Bounces
Section titled “Bounces”If an email bounces, Wiggli stops emailing that profile and flags it, the same protection as an unsubscribe, so a bad address doesn’t keep damaging your sender reputation. Check whether the candidate has another channel (LinkedIn, phone), and clean up the source data before you reuse similar profiles.
Pause and resume
Section titled “Pause and resume”Toggle a campaign OFF at any time. In-flight steps pause, already-sent messages are unaffected, and recipients keep their progress. Toggle back ON and it resumes from where it stopped.
Pausing is also how you edit mid-campaign: pause, edit the next step, resume. Recipients who haven’t reached that step get the updated content.
Common misconceptions
Section titled “Common misconceptions”Pausing doesn’t cancel a campaign. It preserves state. Resume continues where it stopped.
Auto-stop isn’t email-only. A reply on any connected channel stops the whole multi-channel sequence.
You don’t manually remove repliers. Auto-stop handles it.
You don’t need a wait-for-reply step between follow-ups. Stack your follow-up messages directly. The sequence auto-stops the instant someone replies on any channel, so a candidate who answers after message two never receives message three. You don’t have to gate each follow-up behind a manual reply check. (This is separate from a LinkedIn connection check, which is a real branching step: visit, check if connected, then message or send a request.)
Unsubscribe is permanent. Across all current and future campaigns from the workspace. Required by anti-spam rules.
Editing a step doesn’t change sent messages. Already-sent messages are fixed. Edits affect future sends only.
