I'm not finding any candidates

The results list is empty or very short, and you know there should be more people matching this profile.

Likely causes

  • Filters too narrow. Strict criteria stack fast. A senior profile, in one city, with three certifications and a 10-year minimum can return almost nobody.
  • Location too tight. A 0 km radius or city-only filter excludes nearby candidates.
  • Industry mismatch. Industries are classified from company data. A SaaS-company candidate might be tagged “Computer Software” rather than “Internet”, so the filter excludes them.
  • Excluded Companies too aggressive. Excluding 20 companies removes more than expected.
  • Job title spelling. “Backend” vs “Back-end” vs “Back End” can return different counts. Use AI synonyms.
  • Boolean misuse. (Python OR Java) NOT consultant is stricter than it looks.

Solution

  1. Open the filter panel and review every active criterion.
  2. Widen the location radius first. Highest-impact change for low-match searches.
  3. Remove or reduce the years-of-experience minimum.
  4. Accept all AI-suggested job-title synonyms.
  5. Remove the industry filter as a test. If results jump, re-add it with more options selected.
  6. Clear excluded companies, then re-add one at a time to find the culprit.
  7. For Boolean, simplify to must-haves only.
  8. Re-run after each change rather than changing five filters at once, so you can see which lever actually moved the result.

If widening every filter still returns almost nothing, the role may be genuinely rare in the database. Contact support with the exact criteria so the team can check coverage for that profile type and region.
